Joint agents are appointed as Glenbrook prepares the prime site for development
Developer Glenbrook has instructed B8RE as joint agents alongside Gerald Eve to market Meridian 6, a 625,000 sq. ft employment park located on the M6 motorway in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
The announcement comes after Glenbrook recently secured detailed planning consent for the 40-acre development, on one of the last allocated strategic sites in Wigan forming part of the South Lancashire Industrial Estate (SLIE) Primary Employment Area.
Speaking about the appointment, Steve Johnson, director at B8RE, commented: “Wigan is a well-established industrial, manufacturing and logistics location, and we are thrilled to have secured such a prestigious instruction in this location”.
“This is the first time we have advised Glenbrook, and we are aware that the team has been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare the site for development to begin. The site offers many alternative development layouts, and we are hugely encouraged by Glenbrook’s flexibility in being able to offer leasehold and freehold turnkey deals on all unit sizes, together with land sales on the larger plots. We are already working closely with our joint agency partners with some exciting active enquiries.”
Guy Butler, director at Glenbrook said: “Since planning was secured, we have been drawing up detailed plans with our design team on the site infrastructure, which ensures there is ample power to the site, and aligning the funding to ensure deliverability. We have made significant progress and are working towards the appointment of a contractor over the summer before commencing access to the site in the third quarter of this year.”
Meridian 6 is designed by AEW Architects. Gerald Eve is the planning consultant for the project and SGi Consulting Engineers is the civil and structural engineer.
