We are proud to have worked with Forever Consulting, tasking them with independently creating this report into our work and the social impact it has achieved. Here, Kev Duxbury, Director at Forever Consulting tells us more about preparing a social value report.
Forever Consulting was established as a social enterprise in 2017. We are owned by the charity, Forever Manchester, and all the surpluses from our consultancy business are reinvested in grass roots community activity. Therefore, the profits from our social and economic research services benefit the communities of Greater Manchester, not shareholders.
We work with like-minded organisations around the country, celebrating the work they do in giving back through social initiatives. We support our clients to capture and measure the social value they generate, as well as identifying opportunities to generate and capture more in the future.
That’s what we’ve done with Glenbrook, analysing the company’s social impact in three main areas: economic, wellbeing and community.
Economically, the company has had a positive impact in many areas, creating hundreds of new jobs through either construction or through creating new workspaces.
The company’s work has also generated social value in terms of wellbeing, improving things like health outcomes for those moving into better social housing – or those benefitting from living in a great neighbourhood. We also analysed Glenbrook’s community work in supporting a range of charities and great causes – from Wood Street Mission, to The Prince’s Trust and the NHS, as well as a range of grass roots sporting clubs too.
By drawing on our experience of carrying out similar assessments, we also made recommendations for the future, exploring what else Glenbrook can do to maintain its commitment to the areas in which it works. For companies like them and us, these reports are so much more than a box ticking exercise – they’re a genuine assessment and vision for a more sustainable future.
We’re confident in our work and are guided by the use of technical guidance and best practice – capturing the real value added and the positive impact created by our clients for the communities (including their employees!) they live and work in.
We consult with a wide range of employees and gather robust evidence using our tried and tested framework to capture a wide range of benefits.
We look forward to continuing to work with Glenbrook as they contribute to communities in Greater Manchester and beyond.
